story

CLEAR-TB is a global collaboration of experts in the field of Tuberculosis research, working to determine the effects of bacterial and host heterogeneity on the manifestations, progression and consequences of close exposure to TB in the household, and of active TB, and to uncover the immunological mechanisms underlying the diverse clinical outcomes in hosts infected with high and low transmission strains of Mtb (Mycobacterium tuberculosis), towards better and more rapid treatments against this consequential disease.

Backstory

David and I had worked together on the RePORT International website and he had mentioned that there would be another project in the pipeline. Joanna Radman has just joined his team and on her 2nd day at work, she was asked to get proposals from potential vendors for the global collaboration in TB research website. I was the first person she contacted.

We met over zoom, she was just getting up and I was getting ready to call it a day. She was still finding her way around things at work since it was her first week and I ended up socialising and sharing the work process that she would be required to follow, the vendor registration process etc, having done that myself just a few months prior. I was sharing with her on what to include in the design brief with other vendors! Never mind the intelligence.

I have come to accept that whatever verbal and written eloquence I possess is funnelled directly into my stories. And as a result, when it comes to socialising there are no clever words left. Whether I’m talking to clients or friends or making terrible small talk with the cashier at the grocery store, I’m going to sound like an AI in the very early stages of learning basic communication. (a direct lift from Meg Moira)

Anyways, my helping hand got rewarded. I got the project. I didn’t expect the colourful lungs logo to go through, but here we are. The website content came in bits but was accurate to the letter and I didn’t have to change a comma. Clients like these need to be duplicated (ctrl D) copy pasted (ctrl C ctrl V), and saved as final client.cdr (ctrl S). May your tribe increase.
