Backstory

Proderma was a dermatology clinic in Mangalore and was known to Prashant who I think was helping them with some architecture/interior designing service. Prashant’s wife Priyanka was a friend of mine. Sometimes mentioning this relationship is important to decide how firm or gentle one needs to behave with the said client.

So I was briefed to do a logo design for the clinic and to use a petal or leaf concept integrated within the design. They showed me some samples which they had got done by someone else. Thankfully they were all disastrous. I debated a bit on the usage of the petal, but the client was determined. The process started in 2014, went back and forth for a bit on the designs, finally selecting one, went back and forth on the colours, finally selecting one, went back and forth on the logo adaptation on a visiting card and signage, finally selecting one and then when it came to billing, the client went AWOL. I started with gentle reminders because of the association and then in 2015, I went full firm with all guns blazing. The client surfaced, paid up and made one last change request – Keep the designs as it is, just drop the petal!
