Backstory

Brave are those who descend into conflict. Of the mind, of the body, of the spirit. Brave are those who risk losing what they have worked so hard for, in the quest of finding themselves. Brave are those who stay with despair long enough that it shatters, and leads them to desire.

Brave is Brinda.

Once upon a time, long long ago, in a crowded loud bar, wearing dark red lipstick, in some intoxicating and interesting company, the brave journey of desire began. Over the many encounters of emotions, over lost voices and derailed thoughts, over delirious bodies and breaths, she descended into the dark unknown depths of desire. Emerging with a velocity so intense that it took form in this motion picture – Spiralling Into Desire. 

This film traces a woman’s descent into her deep body to retrieve her true autonomy and draws parallels from the first epic poem ‘The Descent of Inanna.’

The logo explores the descent into the deep body. ‘I’ being central to the exploration, ‘I’ being serendipitously present as an alphabet in all three words, ‘I’ becoming continuous, from the lips to the labia, descending into the abode, the source, the yoni, breathing fire into desire, merging spirit into matter.

Movie titling and end credits have special and permanent residency in my heart. I never ever skip intro. I had this idea of the descent of the ‘I’ long before Bri commissioned me to do the design. It came to me in the shower, reinforcing my belief that the best ideas originate on the pot.
